Casey Anthony is planning to fire her lawyer Jose Baez, who defended her in the 2011 murder trial involving her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. She’s angry over how he’s handling the media circus around her first sit-down interview.

Sources tell us Anthony is furious that Baez has been basking in the limelight and rubbing shoulders with top TV talent, but hasn’t nailed down a big interview deal for her.

Anthony’s original attorney, Cheney Mason, will take over as her representative to the media, and sources say an announcement is imminent.

“Casey doesn’t want to be reading that Jose’s working on all of these deals on her behalf,” a source said, adding that Anthony avidly pores over online reports about herself and her camera-hogging lawyer. “She thinks he’s using her name as a meal ticket,” the source said.
Baez has been dangling a $750,000 fee for the first interview with Anthony, who’s been in hiding in Florida.

While Anthony finishes her probation, Baez has been making television appearances on her behalf and enjoying the perks of being schmoozed by network bigwigs.

“He’s going around taking meetings with TV producers and networks,” a source told us. “She doesn’t trust him anymore.”

After the video diary of Casey leaked on the Internet last week, sources tell us her inner circle grew angrier with Baez.

“They haven’t been talking for weeks,” our source said. “The video was the last straw.”

Baez threatened to sue the perpetrator of the leak in an interview with Geraldo Rivera that aired on Fox News on Sunday, stating that they were private video diaries. Yesterday, it was reported that Anthony told her probation officer that her computer had been hacked and she was upset that the clips were posted on YouTube.

Baez and Mason didn’t respond to numerous requests for comment.

Is there more turmoil in the Casey Anthony camp?

Citing unnamed sources, The New York Post is reporting that Casey Anthony is preparing to dump attorney Jose Baez because she’s unhappy that he hasn’t landed her a major interview and that she doesn’t trust him anymore.

The Post article contained an interesting nugget: “Anthony avidly pores over online reports about herself and her camera-hogging lawyer.”

Could she be a reader among us?

One of those unnamed sources tells the Post that Anthony thinks Baez is “using her name as a meal ticket.”

This report follows one by Diane Dimond on The Daily Beast that there has been a falling-out between Baez and Anthony as well as between Baez and fellow attorney Cheney Mason. The Post, citing those sources, says Mason will take over as her media rep.

Dimond reported: ”As one person close to this story who did not want to be identified put it, ‘Jose is on the outs now. Cheney is in.’ ”

Would that make a difference?

In July, Anthony was acquitted of murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee. Until last week, she had been in hiding while serving a year’s probation somewhere in Florida for check fraud. But last week, clips of her video diary surfaced online. Anthony and Baez have said that her computer was hacked. However the clips surfaced, they put Anthony back in the headlines in a big way.

The New York Post reports that Casey is planning to fire Baez because “she’s angry over how he’s handling the media circus around her first sit-down interview.”

NYPost.com said sources disclosed that Casey is furious that Baez has been in the limelight and talking with top TV talent, but has not yet bagged an interview deal for her.

Another one of Casey’s attorneys, Cheney Mason, will take over as her representative to the media, according to the news website.

The website also stated that sources say an announcement is imminent.

Baez defended Casey in her 2011 murder trial in which she was acquitted on all charges related to the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

After the trial, there were reports that Casey was planning to fire Baez, which later proved to be false.
