I don't know what the 'policy' in Aruba is, but in the Netherlands a 'cleared suspect' receives about $ 110,00 for every day he/she was in detention.

Since Paul was in jail for a couple of days, it seems to be a rather large amount of money to me.

That is true, but he asked for damages (daño y perhuicio), which he endured because of the detention, and the maximum is around the Afls. 50.000,- Remember there was loss of income, reputation damage and privacy loss that ended that he can not be considered to finish his career as a judge.

I know some cases in which people who have been given the same amount for different other motives.

ETA: Jossy's comments that this not has happened is just a LIE. Indeed if you ask for compensation for days spent in jail, the amount will be small, if you ask for damages based on that, it can go up to Afls. 50.000,- So another LIE.

MF, KJ gave the reasons on (MS)NBC why Paulus was arrested, on tape for the world to see and hear. As it turns out, they were trumped up charges to get Joran to crack and confess to a crime that there is no indication that even happened -- the problem is, it didn't work and backfired by 50,000 florins and what ever else it cost the state to punish him for something he clearly had nothing to do with other than be the father of the last known person to be 'seen' with Natalee.

Well I have a true story to share with you all. We used to live in Midland, Michigan. Once I was driving down a road, in Midland, I had to do a double take..at a man that was outside, in his yard. I thought OMG, Its ELVIS. No lie.
This man LOOKS exactly LIKE elvis....

Well to make a long story short, My daughters joined the Pom Pom team, and HE was THERE with his daughter. I started up a conversation with him....and He works for Dow Chemical Company in Midland. However.........HE was the ONE that TABLOIDS took pictures of in Kalamazoo Michigan. Seems he went to visit his son, who was at a college near by...and some woman started taking pictures of him in the supermarket there. HIS face ended up on all the TABLOIDS..that ELVIS WAS ALIVE and LIVING in Kalamazoo Michigan. This man, looks like an older version of Elvis, and can SING exactly like him. He sang a couple songs of Elvis and sounded just like him. He said, that its both luck and a curse to look like Elvis...because he says, sometimes its just hard to lead a normal life. One time he said he went to Graceland, to visit the kings home..and people were thinking THEY seen Elvis' ghost!!

MedJet only requires the client is admitted into a hospital. The nature of the illness does not matter. So, that means it's only a matter of paperwork. The actual location of the persopn being transported by MedJet doesn't matter either. As long as they have the hospital admission papers.

I do believe someone very high up in MedJet is a family friend in MB and possibly they were able to go around some of the rules. Typically you would not see a MedJet on the tarmac of a foreign airport for a couple of days so I think several rules were bent.

I thought they were referring to the pumping out of that pond where the water from the sea kept coming back in....remember people said that "someone", wonder who? wanted to build there and needed to know what kind of problems would be faced in draining that pond...so it was a win for the someone, they found out that it would be difficult to prevent the sea from replenishing the pond.
