That is true, but he asked for damages (daño y perhuicio), which he endured because of the detention, and the maximum is around the Afls. 50.000,- Remember there was loss of income, reputation damage and privacy loss that ended that he can not be considered to finish his career as a judge.
I know some cases in which people who have been given the same amount for different other motives.
ETA: Jossy's comments that this not has happened is just a LIE. Indeed if you ask for compensation for days spent in jail, the amount will be small, if you ask for damages based on that, it can go up to Afls. 50.000,- So another LIE.
