In Honor of Friday the 13th- What are the scariest movies?

Postby Fu-Gee-La » Fri Oct 13, 2006 10:28 am

This is a hard one for me. But here are some movies that have scared the crap out of me...

Children of the Corn- "MALLLAAAAKKKKAAAIIIII!!!!"

Nightmare on Elm Street- "One, two, Freddy's comin' for you.."

"Psycho!"- the scream in the shower - I will never forget it- and the music!

What are the scariest movies you have seen?

Oh gawd,
I saw SAW.

It was just disgusting. Absolutley disgusting! bleck! It was good though.
Haven't brought myself to renting the 2nd one yet.

I saw a scary movie that had Quentin Tarrantino's name on the cover so I rented it. It is called "Hostel". Funny thing is, I thought I was shopping in the Horror section. Turned out I was in the porn section.
That movie is disgusting. Worse than Saw even, and at least an hour of the movie is soft porn.  You would love it Wolf.
I still don't know what Quentin had to do with that movie.

The Eye by the Pang brothers. Chinese with English subtitles. Really creepy and very, very good. One of my faves.

The Omen.

The Ring.

Oldboy (Hong Kong movie).

Fu-gee, Tarantino was executive producer, which usually means the producers paid him money in return for using his name to help the project get funding. Haven't seen Hostel (I'm too scared to see it!).

My all-time favorite is the Exorcist.

Not too scary, but my all time favourite :
Night of the hunter - Robert Mitchum as creepy preacher is fantastic.
(Also in Cape Fear - best badass ever!)

Audition by Takashi Miike - very disturbing, very clever-
but try not to read about it first.

Also love Exorcist, The Omen and Old Boy-

About Old Boy - great film, but I still don`t know to think of it as very funny or very frightening, love the actor of Oh Dae Su- I think it`s a bit difficult to to understand the structure or importance of honour in Korean and Japanese society for western viewers (or at least for me).
On my DVD is a quote that " Old Boy is as cruel as Tarantino"-
very funny that his name is used to promote so many movies.

Don't know how to put it in a nice way,

Yikes! I'm glad you were holding my hand. It was freaky deaky.

That was the music that sounded like a Gregorian Chant, right. Woooah, this is like riding the scary roller coaster.
