Michelle Young Murder Case

NOT VERBATIM NOT COMPLETE

Jane:

Found Nov 3 in her bedroom, bludgeoned to death, her daughter found near her mother's body. Jean Casares has been tracking this story for us.

Jean:

The home is no longer an active crime scene, family members can go back inside. Police do not have a suspect, they are not saying anything.

Jane:

What does it mean when they say nobody has been ruled in or out?

Jean:

Everyone is still investigating, it's a very complicated tragedy, we will have to wait until forensic evidence is analyzed...the autopsy and the potential weapon if it's been found. The fingerprints from the friends, neighbours and husband.

Jane:

Dr. Kobalinski, what does the death and autopsy report tell us. Blunt force trauma was used it appears ..

Kobalinski:

It indicates that some weapon was probably used to fracture this woman's skull. I'm sure the scene was quite bloody with severe damage to the brain. We need that weapon, know who held that weapon and the blood spatter evidence will help to understand all of that better. The autopsy is extremely important, we don't know if she was molested, if she was not, then that is another story. The house was not broken into, that much we do know.

Jane:

So astounding that there are so many unanswered questions. Why can't authorities tell us if they cleared the husband, obviously he is one of the people authorities will have to eliminate. We don't know much about his trip to a business meeting, he said he left early that evening. His timeline says he left on Nov 2 in the evening, then Michelle was with a friend until 10:30 and then the husband the next day calls his sister in law, Meredith and tells her to pick up a fax, she goes and finds her sister dead in the bedroom and her niece Cassidy walking around.

Still many unanswered questions

Jean:

It's an ongoing investigation, they don't want to taint the information for the witnesses and family by going public with any of it. If this leads to a trial, the jury will look at all this and judge the credibility of the police's investigation of the crime.

Jane:

The GPS attached to the phone the husband had, what does it show? It was a 300 mile trip that took 5 hours, so you would probably stop, get gas, there could be surveillance footage, gas receipts etc.

Art Harris:

They're trying to reconstruct all this. They have had 19 investigators working that crime scene for 13 days. That 's a lot longer than normal. They are going over this with a fine toothed comb. They've asked the husband for fingerprints etc to try to rule him out.

They are tyring to account for what happened that night. They've asked ppl to come forward if they saw any vehicles near the house

Jane

Pat Brown, criminal profiler, a crucial aspect is when did the crime occur. Authorities have said look for any suspicious vehicles around the house between midnight and 06:00.

Pat:

That's a pretty wide window, and that's a problem. If you're looking at the husband's movements it's problematic.

Jane:

Pat Brown, two key clues: no forced entry and nothing of value taken

Pat:

Means probably it was someone she was in a relationship with or somebody who dropped by that she knew. Most women who are pregnant are generally killed by their husbands. The police will be looking into their relationship, what it was like, were there problems of any kind in that relationship.

I've missed doing them actually. Since things are moving
at such a slow grind around here, I've decided to try to
stimulate some interest in posting on these other cases.

Thank you Heli!!

Interesting that LE isn't saying anything about their investigation. Could they be involved in a *gulp* coverup?

What is significant about 6AM that it is the end time of when they are looking for suspicious activity?
In just two days, tomorrow will be yesterday

This case has caught my attention as well. It's starting slowly
mainly due to the fact LE is processing all of the evidence
collected at the home / crime scene. According to reports,
there were 19 officers at the home for 13 days collecting
evidence for testing.

I believe once this physical evidence is forensically examined
and the crime scene reconstruction is completed, there will be
a lot of action in this case.

I intend to follow and promote this case for discussion. We have
to jump start something here since the Natalee case is a cold fish.

I'm gonna read everything I can on this one for the next few days, and engage in some discussion on this one. It DOES remind me a bit of Laci/Scott Peterson, by the lady being pregnant, but without learning more, I don't wanna jump to any conclusions.

Thanks, Heli, for the transcript.

Hi Looking Far. Check out Courttv under current crimes. There are a lot of links posted there including one to the 911 call made by her sister. Not much information though, seems the LE are playing this one real close to the vest. Oh and and ignore those who have convicted the husband because he wore a red tie to the funeral. :D

Ah good old bottom feeding Scampi/Regina. It never entered her teeny tiny little mind that the mans home is a crime scene and he can't get in there and that all of his luggage was in his impounded truck so the guy probably didn't have anything to wear. And she don't need no stinking evidence to proclaim the man guilty.

Cassidy...I uploaded the 911 call independant of the news agencies (just in case they remove it in the future) and Heli has made a transcript of it right here on this forum.

Yes another case of husband must have done it, and no evidence made public yet. Hang him high, lets just get the electric chair out now.

I haven't felt a strong undertone of media focusing
unreasonably on Jason Young.

The truth is that pregnant women are most often killed
directly or indirectly by the father of their unborn babies.
I don't find it unreasonable that the first focus is on Jason,
regardless of his whereabouts at the supposed time of
Michelle's death.

Remember, Allen Blackthorne wasn't even in the same state
as his ex-wife, when she was brutally murdered by
Blackthorne's hired hitman. Blackthorne is now serving a life
term for that homicide committed by another on his behalf.

I don't find it unreasonable, i do find some of the reasons odd. Some of the TH's as well. I am wondering about the boy the neighbor mentioned as well.

it certainly is an interesting case

No prob Cass.

VC i don't find it odd about the husband either. What i do find odd is that on none of the messageboards, people are not mentioning the last known person to be with MY.

This may seem like a stupid question, but as a mom I am wondering about the little girl. I know she is only what 2 yrs old? That being the case I wonder if she was in a crib or a toddler bed? She was walking around they said, so if she was in a crib wouldnt someone have to have gotten her out of her crib? I would think that would help narrow time of death. Say the little girl wakes at 5am, then it would account for her being out of the crib. Unless she slept with the mom, but then one would think she may have also fallen victim of the attacker.
May God treat me today the way I treated others yesterday...

At 2 alot of kids are able to climb out of cribs by themselves. Lord knows mine always did.

Very true. But knowing if she could, or if they had a schedule might help narrow things down some. My daughter is 22 mths old now and cant climb out although she tries lol. But she does get up at 5am almost every morning, and by 10am is ready for a nap. In any case I guess the police are looking into that. I just found it interesting considering the age of the child. If in fact she couldnt or wouldnt climb out maybe there are fingerprints by the crib as well?
