Beth could give the same unsolicited advice she gives to families of other missing people...... how to set up funds so no one can audit them.

That's what she did for the families of Jenifer Kesse and Tara Grinsted.

Now, Beth is delving into international laws with her advice. Should be very interesting.

I gotta admit -she may mean well, but Beth is sort of like having a black cat around if you're looking for a missing person.

A genuine act of compassion for the girl's family would not have Big Hootie firstly going to the media to portray herself as some kind of Florence Nightingale.

Just do it and shut up! That is the mark of someone with untainted motives.

I think it's SBS who called Beth first and asked for a reaction.

Perhaps so, but how did SBS become aware?

She had to have put her intentions out there in order for SBS to latch on.

What is SBS?

For those who have not been keeping up with this case, there is a thread for it under crimes and missing people. A fourth suspect was arrested yesterday.

Marlies parents have been in Bonaire for over 3 weeks.

Beth has obvious motives. A book that's not selling, tv movie promotion and she just plain likes seeing herself as a 'star'.

SBS is a broadcasting group. "Home" of Peter R de Vries.

SBS 6 is a family television station for all ages. The "common" people themselves have a central role on the SBS 6 channel. Hart van Nederland ("Heart of the Netherlands"), the channel's newsprogramme, is the best example. It is also the most popular programme of SBS 6.

As if that's the way it always works?

Beth is sometimes contacted concerning Natalee's case & it happens things are said off record. When they talked concerning Natalee yesterday they also talked about Marlies for a little while.

That it was aired in the end was just a mistake...miscommunication between certain people. Someone thought only Natalee's part was off record...but it also included the part concerning Marlies.

Thanks, BT.

I can see why the tv station would think of the Natalee Holloway case and would have talked with her mother.

It would seem that Marlies parents and Natalee Holloways would have something in common, a missing daughter.

Except Beth knows where she put her daughter.

It really means nothing. The important thing is that Marlies was kidnapped over 3 weeks ago, 4 suspects have been arrested, and her fate is still unknown. Her parents must be living a day by day nightmare.

Indeed a living nightmare...the kind that Beth knows all about.

Do you know if there are 4 arrested at the moment or 3? One person was released (I thought the brother of Ryan)...

It is so hard to interpret the articles when you don't know Dutch but it looks like you are right and one is released now.

From “De Telegraaf”, 14-10-2008

Fourth suspect arrested in case Marlies.

Kralendijk – Police on Bonaire has Tuesday-afternoon (local time) (I heard and thought Monday-morning – Harrie) a fourth suspect arrested in the case of the disappearance of the Dutch Pharmacy-assistant Marlies van der Kouwe. This concerns a 30 year-old resident of the island. Another suspect, that was arrested on Sunday is meanwhile left out of custody. The police has stated this.
The person that was left free is, according local media the brother of Ryan P. which is already longer time arrested in connection with the disappearance. Friday also Siegmar M. was arrested. He would have lived in the house of the grandmother of P. , where P. also stayed regularly.

Police on Bonaire is continuously doing searches after Marlies, with the aid of search-dogs. The Public Ministry and the police said on Sunday, to be “very thankful “ for the help they received from the local community up to now. The residents on Bonaire are asked to stay giving information.
