I found this on one of Marten Van Den Berg's website. It was an ad. Marten reports to live in Chiang Mai.

Hi Jenna, actually this is real old news. They have marketed Thailand for not only cosmetic surgery but for heart/kidney transplants etc., particularly for those without insurance in US or whose co-pay is prohibitive.

Brazil was and is the place for top notch cosmetic surgery, believe it or not. There is a clinic in Rio started by one of the best surgeons in the world Ivan sumthin. I can't recall his last name. He has a similar clinic in Paris.

But So Africa a few years ago were marketing plastic surgery and safaris for sumthin like US$10k which is dirt cheap compared to US. So women could have facelifts etc and go on safaris whilst recovering. WHen they would come back and people comment on how well they looked, they could say oh I just went on a safari!

Costa Rica and Dominican Republic market the same thing altho I hear Costa Rica has been having some trouble with botched surgeries/deaths with some Miami women.
